School-based Behavioral Healthcare

It is very likely, your child’s school and RKM Primary Care have partnered together in a unique collaboration to offer behavioral health services to students and families in the community. Our goal is to enhance the support of children and families by providing qualified, licensed therapists within the school setting. All students at the school with an RKM school-based provider have access to these services through referral and parental consent.

The therapist will work with the administration, faculty and staff, families and most importantly, the students, to provide counseling services and address behavioral concerns.

The therapist will:

  • Obtain appropriate consent from parent/guardian to work with the child
  • Conduct screening and assessment
  • Design appropriate treatment plan to meet the student’s needs
  • Collaborate with other providers as needed to ensure comprehensive care
  • Make referrals to other resources as appropriate

The therapist will provide prevention, intervention, and crisis response tailored specifically to the student’s needs and may address:

  • Academic achievement
  • Mental health
  • Anger management
  • Misbehavior
  • Bullying
  • Motivation
  • Conflict resolution
  • Parenting
  • Coping with stress
  • Relationships
  • Divorce
  • Social skills
  • Family dynamics
  • Substance abuse
  • Grief and loss
  • School avoidance/tardiness
  • Medical concerns
  • Truancy

RKM offers medication assistance through partnerships with local pharmacies, tele-health services, an electronic health record (EHR) system with online patient portal, referrals for specialty care and on-site certified assistance counselors to help you navigate qualifying insurance programs including Medicare and Medicaid.

All RKM clinics are JCAHO Accredited Primary Care Medical Homes and provide a full range of medical, dental and behavioral health services. This means we provide safe, high quality care that treats the whole person with options to choose your provider and be involved in your own treatment plan.

Let us be your family’s choice to provide the right care, close to home.
